Dark Knight Rises

Today I watched the Blu-Ray of Dark Knight Rises, the final batman movie with Christian Bale.

To say this movie is awesome is an enormous understatement. There's a lot of action and drama in this one, after all it ends the Batman trilogy so it had to go out in style. They have Cat Woman in this one, played by the lovely Anne Hathaway and the super villain Bane, played by Tom Hardy. Bane's voice is so creepy and so awesome. And at the end of the movie, we learn that we even have Robin, whom will most likely take charge of the city now that The Bat is gone. Fun fact, Bale said he'd never do a Batman movie if Robin was part of it, but I guess since Robin was just an guy with no costume and that we didn't know he was Robin until the very end, Bale was OK with that.

Bane wants to destroy Gotham and he even beats Batman on their first fight, and Wayne takes weeks to get back into shape to try again. During that time, Bane took over the city and it's completely chaos. All of that and the prospect of an atomic bomb going off at any time.

The end of the movie took me by surprise. I didn't see that betrayal plot coming at all. Like in most Batman comics and video games, I knew Batman would hook up with the Cat Woman, so I wasn't really surprised by that. It was such a great ending. Tying up all the loose ends nicely.

IMDB has it rated at 8.8 and on IMDB's top 250 movies of all time it's ranked at 33. I give my own rating of 10 for this movie! It is so bad ass! You got to watch it!

Ted

Watched the Blu-Ray of Ted today.

The movie is about a little boy that wishes his teddy bear to be more real, and the teddy bear becomes a sentient being over Christmas.

The movie has most of the cast from Family Guy and American Dad. Basically is what if Stewie's Rupert had become real and how that'd played out if that happened.

If you like Family Guy and American Dad and all the 9/11 jokes, racist jokes, completely over the top/dark humor jokes that comes with those 2 shows, you'll love this movie.

IMDB has it rated at 7.4, and I give my own personal rating of 8.5 since I love American Dad and Family Guy.

The Expendables 2

Watched the Blu-Ray of The Expendables 2 today.

It's a good action film. It has an insane cast: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and even Chuck fucking Norris, and some other less familiar faces too.

They make cracks about each other's movies too. References to Rambo, Die Hard, Terminator and of course how bad ass Chuck Norris is. The funny one was how Chuck Norris got bit by a snake, and 5 agonizing days later the snake died. Snakes should know better than to bite Chuck Norris!

One team member gets killed and Stallone goes after the man that killed his teammate. They help some people along the way and make the world safe as an added bonus. Plenty of action scenes and even get the crack a smile even now and then. The final fight sequence is a hand to hand combat with Stallone against Van Damme.

IMDB has this one rated at 7.1, and I give my own personal rating of 8.0. Definitely worth it.

Total Recall

Watched the Blu-Ray of Total Recall today, and it was awesome!

Some remakes suck, some are good, but then some are just as good if not better than the original and this is one of them.

Unlike the original Total Recall, this one is all done on Earth and not in Mars. There's a lot of little things there were changed from the original, like his "wife" isn't married to another guy, but she was implanted by the big boss to pretend to be his wife. The wife in fact is the ground leader, part played by her real husband in the original. There is no 2-headed Mars resistance leader. But there IS the hooker with 3 tits, just like the original.

One thing I missed in this one was the part where he took out the tracking device. In the original was such a painful ordeal to take that thing out of the brain, in this one it's just in his hand. Also, no fat lady going through the scanners and then the head exploding. At the scanner part it shows us the fat lady, maybe just to tease us and get us to remember the original movie, but Quaid is actually "wearing" someone else.

The original was about helping Mars and all its inhabitants, and without spoiling the end on this one I'll just say that it helps out the people on Earth too by stopping a global war.

Great movie! IMDB rates it at 6.3, and I give my own personal rating of 9.0.
