The Cabin In The Woods

Watched the Blu-Ray of the movie The Cabin In The Woods today, and it was a great movie.

The movie is about 5 college friends going up to a far away lodge and bad shit happens. They are being monitored, so at first I'm thinking it's a psychological test, but when zombies come out and started killing them I realized WHERE the people analyzing those kids were located, HELL.

People in Hell are setting those guys up to die, and by the end of the movie you realize why Hell is so involved in keeping those people from leaving and making sure they die, and they have to die in a specific order too. Hell keeps making sacrifices so the "old Gods" don't come out.

The movie ends with a giant hand smashing the Cabin as he/it gets out of Hell. Something older then the Devil himself. The end of humanity happens because 2 people didn't die and after learning that the world would end if don't die they were too selfish and refused to die to save humanity, but then again considering how bad humanity is right now I can't say I'd do it any differently.

The movie has 1 hot and 1 cute chick. The hot chick gets naked but she dies soon after she exposes her boobs sadly. The cute one makes it through the end, tho at the end she'll be pretty banged up.

IMDB rating of 7.6, and my personal rating of 8.5! It's worth watching it for sure.

The Avengers and Item 47

Just finished watching the Blu-Ray for The Avengers movie and it was AWESOME!

What a great movie. You got Black Widow, Tony Stark, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk and Hawkeye. At first they don't function well together, but along the movie they start working much better together.

There were several funny moments, but my favorite 2 were when The Hulk and Thor fight together against some aliens and after the fight out of nowhere Hulk just sucker punches the hell out of Thor sending him off screen. The other funny moment was when Loki kept bragging about being an all powerful God and The Hulk just starts tossing him around like a rag doll, and I mean really just tossing the crap out of him, and after Loki is left moaning in pain The Hulk just says "puny God". The Hulk FOR THE WIN! Shame that 1 somewhat meaningful character dies.

It was absolutely a great movie. IMDB rates it as 8.6, being the top 63 movie of all time, and I personally rate it as 10!

Item 47 is a 10 minutes short that's meant to be watched after you see The Avengers, part of the Blu-Ray extra for The Avengers. One piece of alien tech makes it to the hands of 2 people, and they start robbing banks. SHIELD is sent in to retrieve the device, and instead of arresting those 2 or kill them, they give them jobs working for SHIELD. Proof that crime pays!

Ghost Protocol

Watched the Blu-ray of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (aka Mission Impossible 4) today.

It was a pretty good movie. Cruise is batshit crazy in real life with that stupid Scientology and what not, but he's a decent actor.

The other cast members weren't exactly huge names, except if you count Hawkeye from The Avengers as a huge name.

Plot revolved around how a nutcase thought it'd be nice if the US and Russia went into a nuclear war, and Ethan Hawk (Cruise) and his crew fought to stop that nuclear winter from ever happening.

Movie was pretty good and I'd recommend it.

IMDB rating of 7.4, and my person rating of 7.0.

Battleship

Watched the BluRay of Battleship today.

The lead actor is the dude that played John Carter, and also has Liam Neeson and Rihanna in it. This is another what if aliens invaded the Earth scenario.

We sent out a signal to space, and years later those aliens sent out 5 ships, probably as a forward recon force. I mean, really, if you're gonna send out a signal that says "Hi, we're Earth, we don't have the technology to travel throughout the galaxy yet but feel free to check us out" what you think is going to happen? Any alien out there with the technology to space travel will most likely see any planet as a resource depot, and nothing else.

Anyways, the movie starts out with some Destroyers facing off against the aliens but they got owned, so the 1 remaining crew commandeers the USS Missouri, which is a Battleship, and they kick the alien's butts.

When the movie ends and the credits roll in, there's gonna be a little bit of the movie that shows a possible reason for a Battleship 2 movie. After the credits, it shows how still 1 alien lived.

IMDB rating of 6.1 and my personal rating of 7.0.

The Hunger Games

Watched the Blu-Ray of The Hunger Games today and it was a pretty good movie.

After a civil war in the UK, they divided the country into 12 Districts besides London. London keeps a tight grip on these Districts and to "celebrate" the end of the civil war/rebellion they put together 1 man and 1 woman of every of the 12 Districts into an arena of sorts, and only 1 can get out of there alive.

The main chick on this movie isn't bad looking, although that huge mole/wart that she's got on her lower jaw near the right ear is kind of gross, it doesn't really affect much of the movie since they try their best to avoid making shots of her showing that thing.

The story was nice, as it was based on a best selling book, and you can expect sequels since there's more than one Hunger Games book.

Any movie that keeps me from pausing it to go to a bio break, or go surf the net for a bit, is always a good movie in my book. The story/plot was obviously not plausible, but it was a good movie nonetheless.

IMDB rating of 7.5, and my personal rating of 8.0.
