I am a John Cusack fan, so I was drawn to watch The Raven because of him. He's a good actor and seem to chose his roles carefully, hence tending to be involved in good movies.
The Raven is about the famous american poet Edgar Allan Poe. Poe, in real life, was deranged shortly before he died, saying the name "Reynolds" for no reason, and the movie explores the life of the poet and explores a possible, but really really not plausible, reason for why Poe was saying "Reynolds" on his last moments.
Not great names on the cast other than Cusack, but surely great performances. I'm not big into historical or anything with those old times, but this movie was really fun to watch. Since it was EXTREMELY loosely based in real life, I can say it wasn't a happy ending and it wouldn't be spoiling it since Poe died young in real life.
IMDB rating of 6.5, and my personal rating of 8.0.
